4 Cell Enhanced with X6 UltraBase?

Hi Guys,

I just got an X61s and an X6 UltraBase. I was thinking of upgrading the battery from the 4 Cell Slim Line to the 4 Cell Enhanced. Does the Enhanced work with the UltraBase? The Lenovo sites seems to have conflicting info. I'll be making frequent trips from Philly to Boston, and I'll need some extra battery life.

Also, I'm planning to get the 11" Elecom Zero Shock III to use when I don't have the UltraBase attached. Anyone have any suggestions for a sleeve that will also accommodate the UltraBase?

Thanks, guys!

Not directly responsive to your question, but for transporting the ultrabase separate from the laptop, you could consider buying the IBM Travel keyboard. The keyboard ships with a case to use when traveling with the keyboard. The X6 ultrabase fits nicely inside the keyboard case - obviously, when the keyboard is not also inside it. This case does not have thick cushioning like a laptop case, but it worked well for me to protect the ultrabase inside a briefcase. Plus, you get an old style (no window keys) IBM desktop keyboard that is of small size due to the lack of a separate keypad on the right side.

Yes. On the back side of the Ultrabase you'll see some bits of plastic scalloped out, this is where the cylindrical bits of the 4-cell enhanced and 8-cell batteries sit into when docked.

I don't know about fitting the Ultrabase in as well, but as an FYI the 12" Zeroshock III case fit snugly with the 8-cell (sticking out) battery, and also fine with a 4-cell slim.
