Fedora Core 8.0 on X61s

Two days ago I managed to install Fedora Core 8.0 on my X61s beside Windows Vista. Great results!! All hardware was fully recognized even the fingerprint reader.
IBM ThinkPad X61s, L7500(1.6GHz), 2GB RAM, 160GB 5400rpm HD, 12.1in 1024x768 LCD, Intel X3100, Intel 802.11agn wireless, Bluetooth, Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, Secure chip, Fingerprint reader, Intel Turbo Memory, 4c Li-Ion, WinVista Business 32

Fedora 9 has been out for a while, though. Works for me ;-)

how about the function keys such as brightness and volume change graphical display ?

are the battery life / temperature similar to vista? I've been meaning to switch to linux for awhile but was daunted by these problems.

Actually the function keys will not work, you must search for drivers on the internet. Moreover battery life is about 30 - 35 % less.
