Dumb questions, X60s battery symbol and some more

Hello,

finally got my hands on an allegedly more or less brand new but manufacturer repaired X60s. More about that later.

When I first plugged in the AC adapter, the AC adapter symbol and the battery symbol on the lid came up green. Because of the battery symbol coming up, I assumed, it would be charging and turn of, once fully charged. But even overnight, it didnt turn of. Now I am starting to think, the constant green symbol means, its fully charged. Am I on the right track?

Also the 5400 rmp HDD is rather loud on start up. When I once bought a new HDD for my old 600E, it was dead quiet all the time. Could it be, that the reseller put in a used hard drive or is it okay for a brand new HDD to make "noise" when busy?

Just to prevent further questions like the one above with the battery symbol: Is there something like a user manual for those things online?

Thanks for your time,
Martin

The battery LED will stay green when the battery is fully charged. It will blink green when it's charging, orange inbetween empty and almost full.

Re. hard drive. Some are loud and some are quiet, I always say it's a bit of a lottery. I've heard drives that, according to write ups, should have been quiet being exactly the opposite. I don't believe that hard drive noise can be directly related to age, however in particular circumstances it can be related to an imminent crash; the "click".
