how big is your I386 folder?

#1 Post by tadler » Fri Aug 29, 2008 2:07 pm

my C:\I386 folder size is: 473 MB (496,972,724 bytes)

the reason i'm asking is that i want to create a a Custom OEM Windows CD, as instructed in this link: http://kylefarnung.com/index.php/2007/0 ... tom_oem_wi
in this method, you use your I386 folder. but i read somewhere else that this folder should be above 600MB. in my recovery cd's the size of the I386 folder is smaller than 200MB..

do you have different sizes?

Mines about 474mb - T60p. I assume it was installed from R&R. Been using it for about half a year. Even made a recovery disc from it and it seemed to work last time I used it.

wow thormdac.. well, i also did an nlite clean install cd. with just 3 drivers and sp3, and it's 585mb.
teach me your magic, please!
with some of my progs. installed i'm about 7gb now, but it will grow pretty soon, haven't installed my adobe CS yet..

btw, the clean-install process went very good, would have been better to integrate more drivers and especially the chipset, so it was much more work after install, but anyway, i have a clean fast machine now :)

thanks everybody for sharing ur info :)
