X60 Lenovo Software Problems

I am running Win XP Pro on my X60 notebook using the latest drives from Lenovo. I am noticing that the software does not work as flawlessly compared to my T41. When I press Fn+End to turn down the brightness all the way and then try to turn it back up, it lags for a few seconds. Also, after installing SP3, Fn+F3 no longer works.

When i'm using the laptop on battery power, the screen flashes every few minutes, and then suddenly will turn off, however the backlight remains on. I have to press Fn+F7 to switch to dual display to get the display back. I have it set in my battery settings to power off the display when idle, but this happens in the middle of using it. Also, I have it set to turn down the display brightness after 1 minute, but the time that it takes to do that varies from 2seconds idle to 1 minute idle.

It sounds like all these problems are due to the HotKey software and battery software, but I don't know. What do i do??

For starters, you could try to uninstall the battery software and reinstall it. Get the latest from the driver support website.

If that doesn't work, try to flash to the latest BIOS. It might (or not) solve your issues.

If all else fails, I hope you still have warranty remaining on that laptop.
