Different CPU in X61s

Dear all,
I have found that X61s model has different CPUs. I was wondering what's the different of X61s tailor with
Intel Core™ 2 Duo L7500 LV (1.6GHz, 4MB L2, 800MHz FSB) vs
Intel Core™ 2 Duo T7250 NV (2.0GHz, 2MB L2, 800MHz FSB)?
My understand is L7500LV use less power so it should have longer battery life. Is it better to grab L7500LV instead of L7250NV?
Thanks in advance,
Paul

The first one is an X61s; the second one is an X61, not an X61s.
If you have the option, then consider the X61s with the faster processor, i.e., the 1.8GHz Low Voltage (LV) L7700 Core 2 Duo processor.

Hi EOMtp,
Thanks for your response. I must be messed up. I believe I have seen X61s with different cpu from lenovo outlet.
Thanks anyway.

It's probably Outlet listing that is messed up. Speaking from personal experience, don't believe the specs 100%, run them against the model number or call them...

IMO L7500 is way better than T7250 considering performance and battery life. L7500 is high end processor and T7250 is mid-range.

Thanks 732!!
How about X61s with L7500 (C2D) 1.6 compare to X60s with L2400 (core duo) 1.6? Is there significant in performance? Battery life? I don't need 64 bit.
Thanks,

The fan on the X60s may be on 10% of the time or less under "normal" usage, whereas the fan on the X61s will be on 90% of the time under similar load. If 64-bit compatibility, max. 4GB memory rather than 3GB, or using newer internal WWAN cards are not of concern to you -- but
quiet is important -- then the X60s is hands-down preferable to the X61s.

Thanks EOMtp,
I think I made the right choice.

X60s seems to have much longer battery life (L2400 10-11h 8c) than X61s (7-8h L7500 8c). L7500 is, of course faster, but it's not that big deal. That's why I'm selling my X61s and getting X60s.

Interesting!! Mine is getting like 8 hrs from a quite new 8 cell battery, but I doubt for 10 hours!! I have to do some research how to get that much of working time out of this one.
