Problem with Color Depth x60 1706xxx

On my x60 1706xxx, I set the color depth to 32 bit but whenever I put in on suspend or hibernate, it reverts to 16bit. On a reboot, it will stay on 32 bit. Are others having this problem? Is there any way to lock into 32 bit color? Thanks.
