X60 hangs from suspend

I have a client with a X60 1709. Running Windows XP SP3.

When suspending the fan stays on and will not resume. This has been happening since day one, the last 1.5 years. The only way to have the system running again is to remove A/C power and the battery.

I believe the BIOS is the latest.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts?

Brad

Brad, make sure the BIOS is at 7BETD6WW (2.17) and the embedded controller is at 1.13. If it is at the latest version, you could try a previous version - http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... 63144.html

I have same problem with my client. First I thought it did freeze every time but it actually powers on the monitor after like 1-2 minutes. I don't know what's causing that though because I had no time to research it.

Thanks for the replies.

I just heard back from my client. The EC is at 1.13 and the BIOS is at 2.13 (7BETD3WW)

Hopefully a BIOS upgrade will make a difference.

Thanks again,

Brad
