x60 to external monitor

I am planning to buy a external LCD monitor and use XP's dual screen feature. However, when checking the dual screen setting, I found that only 1600*1200 and 2048*1536 are available for high resolutions, not the common wide screen resolutions like 1680*1080 or 1920*1200/1080. Do anyone know whether x60 supports these wide-screen monitor resolutions and if so, what should I do to make it work. Thanks.

Yes, they are supported.

Often they will not be available until you attach an external widescreen monitor, but will be available once you do.

In rare cases, you have to install/reinstall monitor/videocard drivers.
