Hi, my old battery just died and i'm considering buying whether 4-Cell slim or 4-cell enhanced capacity battery.
What do you think?

to the best of my knowledge, i guess the difference between a 4 cell high capacity and normal 4 cell is some kind of newer Li-ion technology which probably gives u an extra 30-35 mins of charge than a regular 4 cell battery..and over a period of 2-4 months the guess its gonna be the same as a 4 cell battery..

technically speaking milliampere-hour is the difference youu will be finding in both the batteries..the higher it is, the higher output its gonna give u..but again, since both are 4 cell, not much difference..and i would suggest a 6 cell or a 9 cell battery depending on ur laptop.. :)

Another angle on the batteries is grip.

I carry my closed laptop around under my arm a lot.

The enhanced 4-cell has nice nn bumps on the bottom and makes it easier to firmly hold on to the laptop.

The slim 4-cell is slightly lighter, but has a flat bottom, which offers no extra grip.

the 4 cell battery does not protrude out like a 9 cell battery..so even if the battery has grips on them,i guess with respect to the 4 cell battery there wont be any major issues...

but again, hey its an individual's opinion...
:D

No the 4-cell battery does not protrude like my 9-cell battery (I have all three). The point was that the physical difference between the 4-cell enhanced battery and 4-cell slim battery is that the enhanced battery has fat cells which protrude nn from the bottom, which make it easier to hold on to your laptop .

woow...really!! i dint knew that...
frankly speaking even i m having thoughts of buying a 4 cell enhanced one for my x61..
i have a 9 cell one which makes my laptop kinda on the heavy side..
thank you for your input!! :D

Don't forget the 4-cell slim battery will only fit the "s" models.

The 4-cell slim battery has slightly less capacity than the 4-cell enhanced one. From memory it's 2.0 vs 2.6 Ah (but I may be wrong).

IMO, unless you are really looking to make the machine the lightest, most portable you can get it, get the 4-cell enhanced. Of course if your system is an X60/61 and not an X60s/61s, the decision has already been made for you :)

Not really. The "enhanced" 4-cell uses traditional high volume cylindrical cells which are higher capacity than the smaller rectangular cells in the "slim" 4-cell. I believe that the difference is partly due to the shape/size and partly due to the fact that cylindrical cells are available from many vendors, are high volume, and are highly competitive so the best new manufacturing techniques show up there first.

Four cell enhanced. I think they have the same weight or at least very very small weight difference.
