I noticed there are some X61 with Centrino sticker and some with Intel Core Duo. Is it random, or does it hides some differentiation which I`m not aware about? I was under the impression that x61s has the L cpu which is more econimic, and that x61 has the T cpu which is faster. I thought both of them are Inter Core Duo. Was I wrong?

L are low voltage (for ultra portable notebooks).

The processor can be Core Duo (or Core Solo) or Core 2 Duo...

Centrino refers to the platform:

Centrino Duo mean:
- Core 2 Duo Processor
- Intel Chipset
- Intel wireless

There is one thing I still don`t understand: What is the difference between x61s with Centrino pro to Centrino vPro sticker? I understand that you can find the new logo from the 2nd quarter of 2008. But I just bought 7667-34U and it has a new sticker although tabook says the available date for this one is Jun 07. I concluded from that that Lenovo didn`t manufatored 7667-34U this year. I was wrong?

Where is my confusion, and still, what is the difference between Centrino pro to Centrino vPro in term of hardware?

From Lenovo's site, under support, downloads and drivers, check at the left side, search warranty status, enter your serial (not 7667-34U, the one in the bottom) and lenovo will report when was manufactured and when was sold, also your warranty status.

Centrino vPro refers to high performance Quad Core or Core 2 processor, as T9600 and so on. Also features enteprise class components, integrated graphics and more, in order to reduce energy consumption, enhance performance and remote management.

Ultra portable notebooks features usually have ultra low voltage processor. check the link above

You say "T9600 and so on" but my X has L7300 and has the vPro logo.

In the low voltage class, your L7300 is one of the more powerful.

Sorry, but vPro has nothing to do with CPU power.

It is the Intel Active Management Technology. The systems with this chip built in get the vPro logo (or Centrino Pro). However, not all systems with the chip end up with the sticker. My W500 has the AMT chip, but a regular Centrino 2 sticker, not the Centrino 2 vPro sticker.

Strange. My W500 has the vPro sticker.

I would think that AMT would be the one thing determining whether or not it gets a sticker though. The rest of the features are pretty standard for Thinkpads.
