Using a t60p power supply OK with a x61s?

#1 Post by heelix » Wed Nov 05, 2008 1:18 am

They just updated my laptop - now a proud member of the x-series family. Quick question on power supplies....

So it looks like the power supply for my t60p is compatible (from a plug in perspective) with the x61s. X-series PS is rated 65W/20V/3.25A. T-series PS is rated 90W/20V/4.5A. Since I pack both laptops with me but only run one at a time - is it safe to use the t60p power supply with a x61s? Would be nice to carry one less thing, but hate to do something dangerous just because the socket fits....

You could also consider using the 65W adapter on the road for the T60p. See here for a discussion of 65W vs. 90W.
