7200rpm drives - vibration issues, active protection system

Gurus,

I'll be installing a Western Digital Scorpio Black 7200 rpm drive shortly. Two questions:

- Can I expect issues with increased vibration? I've noticed that there's a fair amount of 'Net commentary about increased vibration around these drives, but strangely enough, 90% seems to be related to MacBook installations.

- Will my preinstalled Lenovo Active Protection System still work? I seem to recall a thread somewhere that it is only compatible with Hitachi drives? I'd like to have it in addition to the free-fall sensor in the WD, but am unsure if it will work.

Thoughts?

I have been using 7200-rpm drives for several years now.
(a) I have never found vibration to be an issue. Current drive is a 200Gb 7200-rpm drive and it is very quiet (Hitachi drive)
(b) The Hard Drive APS has always worked with my 7200-rpm drives on my T41 (now out-of-service) and my T61p.

Ditto.

I have used 3 60GB 7200 RPM Hitachis, 2 100GB 7200RPB Hitachis, and 2 160GB 7200 RPM Hitachis with no issues.
