X60/X61 recovery DVDs interchangable?

Hi,
Wanted to know if one can use an X61 Core 2 Duo T8300 recovery DVD to install XP on a Core duo T2400 1.8ghz X60 that appears on Ebay listed "without OS". We have an X61 with XP already in the office.
