Adobe CS4

#1 Post by sgmidf » Sun Nov 30, 2008 7:33 am

I just upgraded to CS4 Master Suite from CS on my X61s running 4GB ram, Vista Ultimate upgraded to SP1. Since the install, I've experienced a number of "lockups" where I'll have to do a hard reboot. I get the "Login process has failed to create the security options" dialog box. I swapped memory and ran the Seagate HD tests with no errors. Windows will run chdsk, which will fix a number of errors, presumably due to the shutdown.
I've uninstalled CSS as, the first time it happened, my wife was using the computer (it always happens that way) and there was a password issue so my first thought was a CSS issue. It still continued and it's accurred to me that Adobe could be the culprit. Does anyone have any similar experiences or advice? I hate to uninstall Adobe as my work gave it to me, but I will if I have to.
TIA and Happy Thanksgiving

I regularly get these problems with my T61 running Vista Business. I had them before installing CS4, but I did have CS3 on my laptop before CS4. I have not noticed any differences.

There are lots of references to this problem on the web, but non have mentioned CS4. Most seem to suggest that the problems are related to anti-virus, waking from sleep/hibernation or hard disk problems on WD discs.

I saw the 'NET references to the problem, but it never happened prior to installing CS4. When I get a few hours, I'll try removing CS4 and doing a system restore to an earlier time. It upgraded my Acrobat 8 to vers 9 so I guess I'll have to re-install that also.
