#1 Post by vliou » Mon Dec 01, 2008 8:49 am

Hey, does anyone know the part # for just the double sided latch w/o the assembly? Some plastic broke inside the shell which I can buy, but I lost the stupid little double sided latch...any clue?

I assume you are talking about the tablet screen latch. The part number is 42W2538. It is possible that the cheapest source of the part is IBM. That number I gave you is obsolete. The only way to get the replacement number is to call IBM parts support at 1-800-765-5944

Is this part a CRU?

The double-sided latch has broken on my laptop twice. It's broken right now, and I'd like to avoid having to ship it back to Lenovo...

The only part you need to remove for access is the LCD Bezel. There are 9 screws. At that point, the latch is held by 2 screws. The lid and panel do not need to come out. The antenna wires and hinges are not involved.
