Warranty Question

I have a 3 year warranty with my X61s and I wanted to do some upgrades but not void the warranty.

Will any of the following void my warranty for the machine? If so, which one(s) and why.
-Removing the hard drive and replacing it with another
-Removing the wireless card and replacing it with another Lenovo-branded card
-Removing the RAM and replacing it

None of the above are purchased through Lenovo, but are new.

Other than not having Lenovo-warranty on the replaced parts, will the motherboard, screen, and other components still be under warranty? For instance, if the screen breaks will they repair it?

Cheers

Changing the ram and hard drive will not void the warranty but the ones you put in will not be covered by Lenovo warranty.
As for the wireless card, I would hold on to the original card and swap it back in when you need warranty service.

Sounds good!

I'm just getting tired of the Atheros card that came with my system (and the endless daily blue screens and driver updates I've had to go through) so I bought a Lenovo branded Intel3945 card but I didn't want to install it until I knew the procedure for sure.

Thanks
