Hi there! Im new to this forum, and i'll start with a question that i cant find an answer to... i recently bought a x61s, and wanted a battery to it, so i bought a battery that had the FRU: 93P5028. I bought it from a guy that claimed that i would fit, all X6xx. But when i compare it to the original battery, its not as wide, and when its installed, the rubber"thingys" on the X61s and the battery isnt aligned properly in height, so it rocks when i type on the computer. So my question is, have i bought a battery that isnt designed for my laptop? :?

Thanks!

You need the battery spacer, FRU #92P1227. Look at step #5 in the link below:

Excellent, thank you for the quick reply. I've managed to find the part on the Swedish lenovo-site, and it wasnt very expensive, but i still wonder, does this apply to all batteries or have i just found a battery that isnt exclusively designed for the X61s? I was under the impression that i bought the 4-cell enhanced battery, but it may be wrong i guess.. :)

Thanks again.

The 4-cell enhanced and the 8-cell need the spacer when installed on an X6xs, but not when installed on an X6x.

As EOMtp says. Also, when you buy an original battery from Lenovo, in a box, it comes with the spacer (at least my 4-cell enhanced did).
