internal mic working only intermittently on X61T

I have recently installed Vista Service Pack 1 and bunch of other upgrades and my internal mic stopped working (for most of the time). It never works when tablet is in an ultrabase. Sometimes it works but it is quite a rare occasion and I can't pinpoint what triggers those on and off.

I can see it in 'recording devices,' it just does not work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled audio drivers, checked for most obvious hardware software conflict. Any ideas? I would really really appreciate any help with that. it is really annoying to connect an external usb mic every time i need a quick 'skype' chat.

Actually, I did install (reinstall) SoundMax drivers... So, it is not that.

What puzzles me is that sometimes mic does work, in Skype, recording etc. Thanks for the help!

hmmm..

actually even i did the same thing, just installed it..and it dint work then...i remember this properly..

but after i updated it, by going into the device manager and selecting the update manager and letting it search online, only then it started to work..

though i did not understand why it happened like that, thts wht worked for me..try it and let me know!!! meanwhile i while try to look in one of the old forums..i remember i read it quite some time ago sumwhr about this issue!!!
