Batteries covered by Accidental Warranty

My battery is starting to physically separate on one corner, plus it can only store 46% of its original charge. I have accidental warranty. Does this cover battery replacements as well?

As far as I know, batteries are only covered for one year no matter what the warranty on the Thinkpad is. So, if your battery is less than a year old, then it is certainly defective if it can only hold 46% of its original capacity and Lenovo should exchange it.

That's quite probably just normal "wear" and not covered by warranty.

Nothing is
certain about that at all.
It is quite possible to run battery capacity down that low in less than a year if it has accumulated a significant number of full cycles. The number of full cycles is product of how long and often it it used on battery power.
