Original description: L7500(1.6GHz), 1GB RAM, 120GB 5400rpm HD, 12.1in 1024x768 LCD, Intel X3100, Intel 802.11agn(n-disabled), Bluetooth, Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, Secure chip, Fingerprint reader, 8c Li-Ion, WinXP Pro

I just ordered this from CDW. I had a few questions, if anyone knows..

1. What is the actual warranty?
The docs say 3yrs and 1yr. Confusing.

2. "n- disabled" in the Intel 8945AGN card. Will I be able to use "n" once it's ratified?
w/o replacing the nic?

I am coming from a T60 to this X61s. I hope I made the right choice.

the 7666-3EU has a 3-year system warranty and 1-year battery warranty.

the N-disabled card is a permanent hardware change done by intel at the factory.   it's impossible to enable.   you would need a new wifi card to get N.

Thanks! 8)

Now, I need a suggestion for an external USB drive chassis or something.
I have plenty of SATA 1.5 or 3.0 laptop drives and right now, I use my ultrabay drive adapter on the T60 along with either Acronis Migrate Easy or Acronis True Image to do backups.

Since the X61 has no 2nd bay and I am not getting the ultrabase thingy, can I do backups via USB with my software (above) and if so, does anyone have a chassis or cable thing to recommend - that I can use to copy to my 2nd drive?

I like to have backups, since I play with software that sometimes breaks and I can return back via reverse copy if needed.

Thanks!
