Hi
After searching the forum I believe I can replace the broken LCD panel on my X61 Tablet with one that is advertised for use with a standard X60. Can someone please confirm that I am correct about this?
Also does anyone know a good place to buy them in the UK? I'm having a lot of difficulty tracking down the right part numbers.
Thanks.

Also can a 1400 x 1024 screen be used instead of the 1024 x 768 existing one or are the connectors different?

Welcome to the forum!
You can't replace a tablet LCD with a standard one without major modding, most likely including BIOS as well.
Hope this helps.

Re: X60 LCD to replace X61 Tablet LCD
LCD's are one of the few ThinkPad parts that aren't highly interchangeable from one machine type to the next.
The reasons have to do with LCD's have different power requirements and those power requirements often coincide with the resolution capabilities.
There are a few adapter / bridges that can be used to downgrade an LCD to a lesser GPU since this is attenuation and maybe an adapter bridge. It is really difficult to uptick a GPU to make it pump out more volts and Mhz refresh rate to upgrade to a better LCD.
These bridges aren't common thus aren't highly refined and the reliability / safety plus even availability is fairly hit and miss.
Since the X61 is fairly cramped, and assuming an adapter to convert the LCD to your GPU is even available and reliable, it just may not fit inside when you're trying to reassemble it all.
Dells are the most common adopters since Inspirons were the same heavy case for years and even their top line XPS systems were still just Inspiron LCD casings and top half keyboard shells bolted onto larger bottom shells and those had some flexibility to insert a female / female plastic adapter at the LCD ribbon.
The best way to determine this, is refer to the Hardware Maintenance Manuals of both systems since the HMM has the FRU and other P/N for non field replaceable units of every part inside every ThinkPad.
Even the ThinkPads HMM book has an FRU and if you see matching part numbers between the two HMM's / your chances are pretty high they're interchangeable.
