Slow eSATA on PCMCIA not solved with BIOS 1.2.2

Installing the BIOS 1.2.2 on my X61T did not solve the performance problem.
Does anyone know a solution?

Very slow eSATA Performance on PCMCIA controllers of Thinkpads with RICOH controllers is a known problem:
http://2xod.com/articles/eSATA%20Perfor ... ntrollers/
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=59504

HDTUNE measures 13.5MB/Sec with my disk vs. >80MB/Sec with the same disk connected to the eSATA port of my desktop

The new BIOS 1.2.2. claims to have solved the eSATA performance problem:
"(Fix) The computer with RICOH CardBus Controller has slow data transfer performance."

Test configuration:
X61T
TYPE 7762-95G s/N L3-A1676 07/08
Bios 1.2.2
Vista 32Bit
Sil 3512 driver 19.8.08, 1.3.71.1

Same problem with Win7 beta.

I'm having the same problem with a T61, also using the latest bios.

Kinda of annoying, let me know if you manage to solve it, i'll do the same ;)

Cheers,
Rui

Sorry for bringing up an old thread. I'm considering to get an eSATA PCMCIA controller for an X61T, and would like to know if this issue has really been resolved.

BTW, is there any eSATA PCMCIA controller out there with powered eSATA ports which can utilize something like this?

Cheers.

Yes, this problem should have been resolved. I don't have this issue after BIOS upgrade
