If all goes well, I should be buying my x61 tablet tonight. I'd like to have a screen protector on its way at the same time, so that I don't scratch the screen up. Are there any recommendations for screen protectors? e.g. A certain brand, type, adhesive, etc. I want a good quality one. This seems to be the only one on ebay and I'm wondering if this is fine. Thanks!

Alright, the tablet's in the mail... If nobody replies and warns me how horribly awful the EXiM screen protector is, I'll likely order it... So if you've had a bad experience with it, please tell me.... Soon!

Interesting timing. I just got myself an X60T and was looking at getting the invisibleShield for mine - the only other one available to me would be something called "Pure Screen".

Its weird how it seems that most electronics retailers around here sell LCD screens/monitors yet they don't seem to sell screen protectors.

I bought the EXiM protector, so I'll be sure to share results once I've used it.

Hmmm, one thing thats starting to worry me. On the ZAGG's US site they state this on the page for the X60 screen protector:

Please note that some models of the X60 and X61 laptops have a soft LCD screen. If yours has a soft LCD, the invisibleSHIELD cannot be applied as it is can cause damage to soft LCD screens. The invisibleSHIELD can only be applied to LCDs with a hard gla[ss]

However on the Australian page I see no such warning... I've never heard of "soft" lcd screens - are they refering to the tablets' digitiser layer? Or maybe the lack of warning is because this "soft" lcd version was never sold in Australia.

I'm fairly positive they are referring to the non-tablet versions of the x60. As far as I know, all tablets would have to have the "hard" lcd.

I can confirm that the InvisiShield screen protectors do not damage the X61 Tablet screen; I owned one previously and it worked fine. I'm going to add my 2 cents though and mention that after having the screen protector on my tablet for ~2 months I decided never to apply one again.

I got the clear crystal version of the InvisiShield, which really causes a significant amount of glare once applied. Even worse is the that fact it really accentuates the slight unevenness found in any laptop LCD, so that viewing the screen from any appreciable angle under fluorescent lightning causes 1) tons of glare, and 2) the appearance of hills and valleys in the screen owing to the way the glare reflects the light.

To make things worse it is difficult to apply the protector on such a large surface and keep dust and specs from getting in while applying it, especially when you're going slowly to prevent bubbles from forming. They say the bubbles are easy to push out, but that depends. And I've found the screen is hardy enough to not need a protector most of the time. But it is easier to scratch with the stock pen they give, especially that hard hard plastic eraser that requires a lot of pressure to activate.

Excellent! I've got an X60T that I'm looking to buy one for. It must have been the picture of the tablet that threw me off a bit.

@hart22 - Not sure what version the Australian guys are selling. My tablets screen does seem quite durable, however seeing as the tablet functionality requires me to 'make contact' with the screen I'm a bit worried.

Oh and I didn't know that there were digitiser pens other than the stock ones (aftermarket), maybe I'll have to look into getting one. Hmmm are there ones that have more buttons on em?

Wacom makes some decent digitizer pens. (Notice the tablet comes with that "Penabled WACOM") sticker above the Centrino / Windows ones.

My wacom digitizer pen is not compatible with my x61. O_o

Alright, the verdict: Screen protectors are the scourge of the universe.

As they go, the EXiM seems to be ok. The quality is good. I'm really more frustrated at myself than it. I had it on all the way, and there were no dust bubbles, just a few at the edge of the screen I couldn't get out. So I pulled it up halfway and tried again. Bad idea. Dust clung to that thing like no tomorrow. I tried pouring water on it and using the suggested tape method... I seem to have most of the dust off but I'm still frustrated at myself. There seems to be some sort of smudge on the "sticky" side that shows up when the screen is dark, but I'm not going to bother trying to get it off. It's futile. The screen's a bit more glarey, but the writing is even better than it was before, I think. If I hadn't been stupid and pulled the thing off, it would probably be great.
