Broken battery connector on X60s

My X60s suffered a low-speed descent from chair to floor, whilst safely packed in a case. It's had much worse over the last couple of years. But this time it must have landed on the corner of the high-capacity battery pack and imposed a torsional force on the battery connector, 'cos it broke.

Both battery and connector are damaged. So, I understand that, in theory, the connector can be replaced on its own (i.e. without replacing the entire M/B. Has anyone here done that?

failing that, I can buy a second-hand motherboard. As it may well have an inferior processor to my current one I'd be looking to detach the battery connector and move it to my damaged machine. Again, anyone know how feasible that is?
