3 year warranty coverage question

I am nearing the end of my 3 year warranty extension on x60s and one key pad popped off. I've tried to fix this from blogg diagrams but have been unable to do on my own. Does my warranty cover this?

Also, the thin plastic under PC card slot broke a long time ago and has in turn caused a stress crack in case above fn key. Is warranty likely to cover that too.

I have to say, apart from this, the computer has been remarkably robust and the best laptop I've owned. Are the newer lenovos as robust?

50/50 shot on the keyboard replacement. It depends on who you talk to...try calling a few times. Ref the stress crack .. it depends. You'd have to send it in to find out. Many times the repair centers will not fix stress cracks if it is not a known design flaw. Both of these comments are based on experience with Lenovo Easyserv in the USA, I have no idea how this would work in New Zealand though. If you are looking at the X series, X200's and X300's are well built, probably more so for the X300's. There have been some complaints about the X200's display quality and of course both newer models are wide screen, vs. your 4:3 aspect ratio X60s. If you're not a widescreen guy, then that settles that. Overall I think quality has improved over time with most Lenovo products. I really like my T400 (once I replaced the keyboard), and my X61s is a quality built machine as well.
