X61 battery diminishes

Hi there!
I have an X61s that has been connected to the AC-outlet for a few days, and even so, the battery is now down to 98%(from 100). Is that a built in feature, i mean, why would the computer use the battery at startup when it is connected to AC?
Any ideas?

I think I read somewhere that it will only sustain battery at 98%. In fact if 96%+/- when you charge it, only gets to 98%. If 70% whatever, it will charge to 100%, but setting on the charger drifts back to 98%. Go figure.

Some battery leakage is normal. Happens on every computer on way or the other.

my battery had a suddenly drop of -15% after resetting it.
