X61t MT+MV Finger touch doesn't work?

Hi all. I'm new here, but I got my X61t (7764-CTO) yesterday and have been having a bit of fun with it. I now need your help.
A little background:
I bought this puppy on the $649 sale because I've wanted a ThinkPad for a long time (faithful Mac user).
I got it with the min 1GB RAM and basic Vista because I got 4GB of RAM from Newegg for next to nothing and I get Vista Business 64-bit from school for free.
After wrestling with the SATA/AHCI junk trying to install Vista 64 (I'm hoping to write a howto article on that soon), I got everything back on here with Vista 64 the way I wanted. All the original drivers/ThinkVantage software, etc. is back on here just as it was originally.
The problem is now that my finger doesn't work on the touchscreen. The stylus works great, but it doesn't recognize any of my fingers at all. FYI, I even tried them with the original OS from the factory and it wouldn't recognize them -- just the stylus.
Are my fingers broken, or is there a trick to enabling fingers, or do I have a bum screen?
Thanks for your help.
