Rescue and Recovery not working

For some reason lately my R&R is not working properly. The process is set to start a back up daily at 10am but now it just sits at 0% completed and doesn't do anything. I've left it for over 24 hours and it's still at 0%.

The br_funcs.exe process is continually at 50% and the only way to cancel stop the R&R is to kill the br_funcs.exe process. Pressing cancel doesn't work.

Any ideas? Is it a corrupted backup file causing this?

experience the same thing on my X61s... sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't

it stalls on the small window with msg "Gathering system setting and data pls wait..."

when it does work the window goes away in a few seconds, but when it doesn't... you wait forever

thinking of uninstalling RR and reinstall
