X60T/X61T SXGA+ Digitizer issue (PICS)

#1 Post by MrBean » Thu May 21, 2009 11:41 pm

Hello Guys,
I have recently purchased a Grade A SXGA+ panel with Wacom Digitizer (SU-040-X04) from Rek, one of our forum members here.

I used this, with parts sourced of ebay, to rebuild the new X60T (6365-CTO) base I picked of from a friend.

Currently running Windows 7 RC (7001), and am having a small issue - this issue remained the same, even with XP Tablet version installed.

The Digitizer is not working, and it seems it is not properly loading the driver for it - all other tablet buttons etc are fine, just the digitizer - I seem to recall a few people having had issues with this, especially when redoing the OS.....I have a new Pen too, yet the digitizer fails to respond - and I believe it is due to the driver.

Can you guys (with X60T/X40T/X61T) post a screendump similar to theis one below - I would like to compare - also, which version driver(s) you have used.

I am really hoping it's not the panel (which I doubt), or the connection cable from the panel to the planar.

What is funny, when I was running the base on an external monitor, before I had the LCD assembly, it showed the same problem with the driver, and the hardware was not available, ie no Wacom tablet digitizer - and, it was a fresh install of Windows XP Tablet edition....

I would appreciate a list of your drivers under HID, please guys.

Hello Guys,
Further to this, I still have no pen-switch assembly installed, but doubt this would be the cause of my problem.....just to make sure, anyone that can tell me if the switch contacts are made/closed/shorted when the pen is out, or if they are open when the pen is out.....

Will appreciate - this is what I'm referring to.....

Have you tried the Wacom drivers instead of the Lenovo ones?

I can't remember where to get them (a search on these boards should bring it up), but along with enabling extra tablet features, it sorted out some peoples' pen problems.
MacBook Pro Retina 13.3 2560x1600 | i5-4258U | 8GB | 256GB SSD | BT+abgnac
Surface Pro 3 12.0 2160x1440 | i5-4300U | 8GB | 256GB SSD | BT+abgnac

Heya rek,
Yes, I did try various versions, from 5-03, and 5-05, the tablet versions, to the 6* professional ones.

I have anyway ordered a new LCD/digitizer cable, including the fingerprint-reader cable, as the one I got off ebay was 2nd hand, and did not include the fingerprint-reader cable.

I will get this sorted, hopefully it is a cable problem :)

No worries, will keep the guys posted, and take pictures for whoever wants to do this next time.

I will still appreciate a list of HID drivers on a X60T, as shown above.
