X60 Tablet display on an X60?

I searched and searched, and I can't figure out conclusively how tough this would be. Specifically, I'd like to take this part - 13n7221 - and put it on an X60/s.

I'd like to take a standard (not SXGA+) X60 tablet display - because it's AFFS - and put it on an X60. Is this possible? I realize it might be a tad thicker, and might have the plastic/glass layer to take off (true?), but would it be an electrical pop-in?

I don't want to do any mods to the hardware, as I swore off LCD tinkering after I killed the one on my X31 trying to replace the CCFL (dumb dumb dumb...)

Thanks!

You'd have to "shave off" a part of the LCD frame, mod the BIOS and a few other things...there's a great thread by erik on modding X61s with a SXGA+ tablet LCD...quite a task to say the very least...

The XGA and SXGA+ cable harnesses on the X60t are the same -- which implies it has same (incompatible with the X60 cable harness) pinouts. So you would still need to build a custom LVDS cable, which does not sound at all easy by the sounds of things.

That was my fear. I suppose that the touch interface runs along the same cable as the display, so they created a new cable... oooooh... the rotating hinge probably dictated that more than anything - I don't think most normal laptop ribbons would work, and some kinda round cable would be needed .... ug--ly.

No thanks! :-)
