Sorry if this has been discussed already...

In terms of heat, power drain, and overall system performance; is it better to have two 1gb sticks of ram or one 2gb stick?

This is in regards to my X60 tablet, but maybe it's a general question for all thinkpads?

I doubt it makes a huge difference one way or the other.

I've checked. The difference is insignificant.

I believe the X61t uses a dual-channel DDR2 memory architecture, such that you get a little bit more memory bandwidth if you use two identical RAM sticks.

That is, 2x1 GB may give you better performance. More memory bandwidth definitely gives you better numbers in memory performance tests, but whether it improves performance for everyday apps is debatable and difficult to measure.
