X60/X61 Stylus Pen Questions

#1 Post by BobA » Mon Jul 27, 2009 2:02 pm

I purchased (and received) some pens advertised as IBM X60/X61 pens. Does anyone know how to tell if they really are IBM pens? What is the exact size of the IBM pens?

Of the lot that I bought, four of them don't work correctly. Does anyone know how to fix them - or can they even be fixed? Some either register before the tip touches the screen or don't register at all.

What does replacing the tip do?

Also, I'm selling the good ones for $22 shipped if anyone is interested (see post here)

Thanks for the help.

I don't know how to tell if one is authentic. But it's perfectly normal that a working stylus to started interacting with the screen without actually touching it (e.g. hovering).

See this page for a brief explanation: http://www.tablet4u.co.uk/techinfo.html

Other brands and models may work differently, but it does work that way for the X41/60/61 Tablet, and other models using the same type of Wacom touchscreens.

AFAIK, replacing the tip should only affect the writing feel. The electronics inside the stylus is actually around and behind the tip.

If you'd like, I can send you a few pics of mine for comparison (Assuming mine is authentic as well) Mine came from George so I'm sure it's an original
