Help needed - Lenovo System Interface Driver Inst Failed

I was trying to do a fresh install for this X61 notebook computer (7675-CTO, 4GB memory). I encountered this weird problem and need some help. Thanks in advnace.
I first did a clean installation of Windows Vista XP2, Ultimate x64 retail edition. It went through smoothly. Then I started to install Lenovo Drivers and Applications. I first installed Intel Chipset Support. Then I tried to install the "Lenovo System Interface Driver", however, the installation failed. The installer told me that "Lenovo System interface Driver is required to install this driver or application." I thought this is almost a cool joke.
