Battery status indicator flashing amber but battery charged

Hi all,

This problem just started today on x61s. The battery is charged and the soft power meter shows it's charged. But the battery status indicator is flashing amber. And a few hours ago, it was doing this and suddenly just shut down. Have restarted and the flashing persists. I'm worried that any moment it's going to shut down on me.

Any ideas on how to reset the hardware battery status indicator to be in sync with the soft one?

That sounds like one of the symptoms of one of the battery recalls. If you have warranty, call IBM. If not, search for battery recall IBM on google. There is a place to go to check
