Does X31 TFT-panel fit onto X61s?

Hi.

I have a X61s with cracked TFT-panel.
Anyone knows if the X31 screen fits?

I think the panel will fit (the screw holes are in the same place) but the pinout on the connector is different. The two panels would not be directly compatible with each other.

A tablet panel would not fit either, since it shares the X31/32 pinout and the screws are in a different orientation altogether.

I also have a cracked X61s Panel. Would a X40 TFT Panel or fit into a X61s?
or would it just be better to buy a 12.1" XGA LCD Screen Matte from someplace
since you can get them for around $125?

Certain X61s units use a thinner screen than the rest of the machines, apart from X60s...if you have an ultralight one, that is what you have to be concerned about.

What is the 7-character model number of your machine?

I have a 7666-3fu. I don't think its the ultralight model since the
Service unit is a 13N7096 LCD MODULE 12.1" XGA (SUMSONG) SECONDARY.
Does this mean most 12.1 XGA LCD panels will work, including the X40 I have as a spare?

No

They may be similar mechanically but have a different electrical interface. Best to google for the spec pdf and compare from there.
