extended warranty on outlet store laptops

Anyone know if you can extend the 1 year warranty to 3 on new or refurbished laptops from the lenovo outlet store?

thanks for the link. Sad state that they won't allow even new thinkpads to pick up extended warranties.

Oh, it gets even more fun. I was told the same thing recently regarding an extended warranty for my ThinkPad X200s. Problem is, I didn't buy it from the outlet!

I purchased a laptop from Lenovo at their Morrisville headquarters this Sept. It was brand new, still in the box. I even asked the folks there whether or not the laptop was eligible for an extended warranty. "Sure. You can do it online if it's a new machine."

Oops.

I'm debating whether or not to try to battle the phone support and coax them into upgrading the warranty, or just skip that step (and take the hit in resale value) and get rid of the machine. Quite irritating...

Not to be "that guy", but this sort of stuff didn't really happen under IBM's watch...
