wwan card disappear after driver install

#1 Post by [nordis] » Mon Nov 09, 2009 1:40 pm

Hi all.
I just got the Ericsson f3507g (Lenovo branded) for use in the X61s (7667-34G). I first used the Lenovo BIOS 2.20 and XP detected the card but after installing the drivers from Ericsson the card disappears in the system manager. So I changed to Zender 2.19 BIOS and the same thing happens, then I taped pin 20 and now XP doesn’t see card at all.
I have tried to uninstall the drivers and removed the card restart (without card) then put the card back and XP finds new hardware (this was before the pin 20 trick) and installed the driver and the card disappears. Now after the pin 20 trick XP doesn’t find it at all, with or without the tape or drivers.

Any suggestions? All help appreciated

I just recently did the same for my X60, but on Vista and got it to work without issues. First installed the Zender BIOS (2.18 for the X60). Then I downloaded and installed the Lenovo drivers for the f3507g (used the ones for the X200, etc., see link below). That's without the card in the laptop. Then shut-down and inserted the card with pin 20 taped. On reboot, Vista found the hardware and installed the drivers. I then re-installed Access Connections. Fn+F5 does not list the card, but I can start and stop the card using Access Connections. Access connections also let me build a location profile to connect to my mobile broadband provider. Works very well.

Since you have a Lenovo branded f3507g, you should probably get the Lenovo drivers for Windows XP:

I would think the method above should work also on XP.

Cheers,
morkli.
