I have acquired a second X61

This one is dead

and shows absolutely no sign of life when the power button is pressed on battery or AC.
Does anyone have list of fuses etc to check, or do I part it out for the screen, keyboard, case etc.

First, try a different keyboard if you can. Sometimes the switch fails.

Thanks guys - this was dead as in no lights showing at all (battery, AC etc). Anyway I found the problem, burn marks on a chip labelled BD4176 which looks like a power management chip. Will be parting this out for spares.
BTW, here's a partial list of mobo fuses if anyone is interested.
F1 0.5A bottom adj SD slot (not fitted)
F2 ?? top adj cpu screws (marked P)
F3 0.5A top adj lcd cable connector
F4 1A top adj keybd conn (block B)
F5 2A top adj cpu screws
F6 ???
F7 ?? top adj fingerprint connector
F8 (0.5A?) top under PCI-E 2
F9 0.5A top under PCI-E 2
F10 0.5A top under PCI-E 2
F11 10A bottom adj dock connector
F12 10A bottom adj dock connector
F13 2A bottom adj dock connector
F14 0.75 bottom adj VGA port
F15 7A bottom adj docking connector
F16 1.5A top adj PCI-E 1 slot
F17 2V (?2A) top adj secondary fan connector (not fitted)

How were you able to get a list of those fuses? Schematics? I'd be interested in getting one for the X60 if you have a contact

.

They're marked on the mobo

The ones that I have no values for were marked with the component name but not their value.

I would like to add that F2 is a 3A fuse for the LCD panel. I know because I have managed to blow it not once, but twice!
Just 20 minutes ago, I was messing with the LCD (I am moving to the HT12X21 AFFS LCD). I had taken off the AC power but forgot to take out the battery. So when I was plugging back the LCD inverter I noted some sparks! Then the LCD couldn't light up. Looking around the LCD cable on the system board I found the F2 fuse, and it was non-connecting again.
Fortunately I still have some stock left behind from the last time I blew it when I was exchanging the LCD cable (because the Thinklight LED lamp was dead) and didn't take out the battery.
Best Regards,
Edward Tam
