Maximum X60s drive access speed? (SSD question)

I'm looking to get an SSD for my X60s, and was wondering what the greatest read/write speed is the machine can handle. I know its a little older, so I'm doubting it can handle these 300mb read/write drives, or however fast they can get. Just want to make sure I'm not buying "more SSD" than my Thinkpad can handle.

Theoretically it can handle half of that, or 150 MB/s. It is an SATA interface, not SATA II.

Alright thanks Harry, I'll look for a drive that doesn't exceed 150mb read/write.

To be honest, sequential transfer speed is not the most important performance parameter for a SSD. The only thing that is limited in older Thinkpads is sequential speeds. The random read and write speeds are more important, and they're not limited. You can still gain 90% of the benefit of the new SSDs that exceed SATA-I specifications.

Hmm.... So how would a drive like this perform? Too much? Too little?

you can use a drive that exceeds 150mb read/write in your computer without a problem - your X60s will not use all the capability of a faster drive, but it will still work just fine.

I have the intel 80 GB G2 SSD (recommended) in my x60s and it works great. But yeah, the sequential reads are capped - not that it matters that much.
Some numbers:

Sorry, working for me now, not sure what was up with it the first time.
Those are pretty impressive speeds, I suppose I would have to buy a super fast drive in order to reach the speed limit.
