i'm in Italy and my x60s power brick seems to have died. I have one hour left on my battery so comp is okay. how do i tell if the unit has failed, or the plug to comp has failed or the internal receptical has failed. any quick diagnostics. I donàt have much time off to go to a major city and find an ibm repair person. if i knew it was the power unit i could order another and have it waiting on my return to usa.

i have a new x200 waiting for me in us, can i use that power unit to recharge my batteries in the x60s?

As far as quick diagnostics if you can check the voltage output with a multmeter.

You can use the X200's a/c adapter with your ThinkPad.

someone did call for me on sunday and got relatively vague information from weekend team. i ll call today and see if any place close to get it checked.

knowing the x200 charger will work is helpful too in longer term fall back position.
