i hate it when some of my things decided to not functioning at the same time while i barely have free time to take care of them all at once...

as soon as i fixed my drivers problem, i found that the system on/off switch, the one on the ultrabase X6 stucks inside as if it was pushed to hard, it seems that now it no longer sits correctly rendering it inoperable
inoperable by which i mean i can't touch the button to move even a slightest, it stucks firmly

i guess it can be fixed quite easily by alligning it back so it sits correctly, only if i can open the ultrabase apart, however i don't see any screws at all under the ultrabase, is this thing punched in together and sealed in the factory?

anyone know how to dis/reassemble it?

cheers

Peel off/lift all the 1/4" round black screw covers on the topside of the unit; then remove the screws.

I seem to vaguely remember that there is a way to lock the X6 ultrabase so that the on/off button cannot be pressed. There should be a movable switch somewhere. Don't have the ultrabase with me now, so cannot check.

The power lock switch is right next to the power on/off switch. It's a left to right slide switch.

dr_st and Harry: exactly, i've tried to force the button to move back into place by shifting the lock slide to the left as hard but failed. the button is stuck very firmly however, i've just fixed it.

EOMtp: I've just fixed it, i didn't realize there are round black stickers covering the screws, thanks for the info, it's done nicely now.

It's interesting to see that lenovo uses nylon coated on 2 among the screws, now after taking them off, 2 screws can't be re-fastened at all and stays loose no matter how hard i try to put them back in. Perhaps, this is a way lenovo knows whether their machine or device has been opened by a user? i just covered them all up by the stickers again.
