Batteries....Again....

#1 Post by dmatko » Fri Dec 11, 2009 12:42 am

ive posted on this subject a few times, and i have something new to report.

im sitting here on my x60 reading forums, doing my usual nightly routine. im running on battery power (which has been giving me a headache for a bit of time as of late) when my battery finally reached 38% and suddenly did the "lenovo drop and stop" down to 4%. **BEEP BEEP....plug in or else!!!** starts yappin at me so i naturally plug the system in. seeing as ive been annoyed with the thing lately, i did something i dont normally do. i let the recharge hit 15%, and i decided to unplug. i lower my brightness to 1 bar, and keep on with my forums reading up on current events etc etc. the system starts draining power, dropping slowly like it used to till it hits 4%. ahh yes, good ole 4%, the point of no return. the point i know that ill be hearing, and seeing pop ups telling me that everything is going to implode, if i dont plug the system in a socket for more yummy in my lappy juice. NOOO!!!! thats right, i didnt plug in. for the past 26 mins, my system has apparently stalled at 4%/10min left, and wont die. to see if i could fix that, ive decided to up the screen brightness to full. ill post up again for when the system hits 2% to see how long it took to "recover" its wits. Start time of 4% shutdown was 9:11pm Pacific time.

Have you ever used the Battery Maintenance function in the ThinkVantage Power Manager?

Cheers,
