[X60s] inexistent second battery and blinking light problem

I have a strange problem with my x60s thinkpad.

The battery light is constantly blinking orange. Doesn't matter if I am on battery or on AC power.

Windows power meter shows two batteries - one - my 4-cell flat battery and another one (none is connected!) that is always at 0% (Power state online, critical).

I can also see two batteries under Power Manager: 1 - ok, 2 - Condition - Error.
PManager is unable to perform the battery gauge reset.

I have tried replacing battery, cmos battery and psu, downgrading and upgrading bios - no change.

Same thing in win xp, win7, linux and under bios.

The battery itself is working completely fine. The only problem is that second phantom battery and annoying blinking light...

I haven't done any hardware or software changes in the computer.
In the evening - watching movie - everything was fine. In the morning - battery starts blinking.

My computer is off the warranty...

Does anyone have a tip or solution?

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Are you connected to a UPS? Power manager will see a UPS battery.

Harryc,
I am not connected to any kind of ups. Computer uses standard 90W AC adapter or battery.
In both cases the same issue...
