Adding a FingerPrint Reader to x60?

I have an X60 1706-WAQ Per IBM's site on the model number. Also other applications say that I have a 1706-CTO.

What do I need in order to add a finger print reader to my system? I had one on a x41 I had and I love having that feature.

Do I just need to order a replacement bezel with the reader and that should just have the little ribbon cable that hooks up to the system board and then I am done? or is there anything else? Should any of the x60 bezels with reader work? I have found 39T7305 as the part number and I think this is all I need.

Thanks for your help

Your X60 probably has the the motherboard connector already. You can check by simply removing the keyboard and look to the left of center, at the bottom edge for the open connector.
You'll need to replace the whole top plate and make sure the fingerprint reader is in the center (X60) and not to the right(X61) on the new one and you'll be good to go.

For sure it has the fitting on the motherboard as I saw when i was cleaning things hence why I thought I might ask if that is all that I need to do in order to swap it.

How do I know what model IBM part is the correct one? The number I posted I am pretty sure is the correct one but I have no real way to know for sure as it sounds like the others will also work they just have different labels (thinkpad vs ibm logo)

Thanks

You need either the old FRU #39T7479 (perhaps available on eBay), or the new FRU #42W3364 ($46 from IBM) which replaces FRU #39T7479.
