x6 tablet screens

#1 Post by richk » Sat Apr 03, 2010 2:46 pm

Are the XGA LCDs for x6 tablets and non-tablets the same? (I realize that the tablets have a digitizer attached to the back that is a separate piece) The tablet LCDs attach differently. Are the "ears" on the side of the tablet LCDs screwed into the side or part of the LCD frame?

They are different. If you want to install an XGA LCD for X6 tablet in a non-tablet X6, you must remove those 'ears'. You also need to modify the LCD cable to make it work.
My favouritePad is X61. My eBay feedback is here. :)
My next goal of upgrading my super X61 is: XGA -> SXGA+

Thanks. I was going the other way - to a tablet.

The tabs (ears) are moulded into the plastic frame :(
