Hello x61t users, can you please try this and let me know the result? I'm trying to isolate a problem using Windows 7 with the digitizer. My system often loose the ability to click after using the stylus for a while. I think I'm getting warmer to the root of the problem.

Taskbar has to be set to use small icons. Using a stylus, click really fast on a icon on the desktop screen such as a shortcut to a folder. After 10 or 20 of really fast clicks, the click becomes stuck as a 'right click' and shows the right click menus. This isn't that bad of a problem for now. Now try to click on the opened window using a digitizer or mouse. Does it still work? For me, the taskbar does not respond, and the only thing I'm able to click is the icons on the desktop screen. I have to press control alt delete and hit cancel to gain control again.

My hardware: 1024x768 resolution, multitouch/multiview, intel SSD, bluetooth, intel wifi, win7 x64, 3gb ram.

Weird thing is when I lower the resolution to 800x600, this doesn't happen. So I thought it was a problem from intel graphics driver and tried using standard VGA driver. Does the same thing on 1024x768 resolution. So I think it is not a problem for those with higher resolution screens without multitouch option.

(edit)This happens on 1024x768 resolution with 'Taskbar and start menu properties' at 'use small icons'. When I use large taskbar icons (default) it doesn't happen on 1024x768 resolution. But I'm pretty sure at some point my mouse buttons and digitizer clicks are going to stop responding.

Don't have such problem. I had Wacom's tablet driver (http://www.wacom.com/tabletpc/driver.cfm) installed. You may give it a try though I'm not sure if it can be installed on x64 Windows or not.

I'm on standard XGA (1024 x 768), no multi-touch.

Cheers.

Thanks for the reply. I think the wacom driver you are referring to is like an addition to the regular driver so softwares like adobe photoshop can make use of the pressure sensitivity. I already have that installed too.

Once I made the taskbar size to normal, it stopped doing the weird behavior on fast clicking icons on desktop. But I also made the interface to not use aero, and it seemed to help even more. But again, when I was teaching someone using tablet mode, the digitizer and mouse clicks stopped working again. I had to press the control alt delete button and cancel. I might just go back to Vista.

edit.
I thought about Vista, but it doesn't support ssd trim. I have intel ssd so I don't want to use vista. I tried 32 bit version of windows 7 professional, it does the same thing after a while using the digitizer. I even tried replacing the digitizer. I don't know what is causing this problem, but I'm pretty sure it's one of those microsoft things that will never get fixed.

Replying on my own thread again.

I finally just installed Vista 32 again. But then bootup and shutdown was too slow compared to Windows 7 even with intel SSD. I keep tried experimenting with a spare regular HDD. This time I installed Windows 7 64 and didn't do any windows update. Then I installed all the drivers and everything from lenovo including multitouch 3.0.0.3 driver. Then updated everything important. No optional drivers updates though. At this moment, it's only been a day but I didn't experience any of the problems using the digitizer. I hope there is no more problems, otherwise I'm never going to buy a thinkpad again, unless of course deep discounts.

-edit
After extensive use, I am not experiencing any tablet input problem. Yes baby!
