X60 went dead on battery w/out warning, now only runs on AC
X60 went dead on battery w/out warning, now only runs on AC
Help! I have a 1709-H6U X60 Thinkpad that is having some issues....of course the day the warranty expired was yesterday
I was using it today on battery power for about an hour and the meter was still almost full. All of a sudden it just dies, didn't go into hibernate or anything. Would not restart, so I plug in the AC and it boots right up, unplug the AC and it dies again. Runs beautiful on AC but the battery light is constantly blinking orange now. Power manager says that battery is good and charged at 77 percent, only 44 cycles on it. Under status it says No Activity. If the battery is good and has a 77 percent charge, then why won't it run off battery anymore?? and why wont the battery charge at all now?? Ran maintenance and it didn't seem to do anything if the program even ran?? Somebody please help, I am stumped as the computer worked all this week and all of a sudden just died not even going into hibernate. Thanks again, Chris

If the battery is 3 years old, which I assume is the age of your X60, then the battery is most probably done.
I wouldn't put too much faith in the power meter systems. Just get a new one.

I just got one for my X60s from the Lenovo Outlet. It is refurbished, not sure what that means but it shows in use date of today and 1 cycle (I just got it today) and (over) full capacity. It looks good so far. A whole lot cheaper than new.
