X60s Battery question!

#1 Post by opticalmouse » Wed Jun 23, 2010 3:04 am

Hi folks!

I just mind to replace my 4cell battery with new one 8 cell to can take more run time, which is about max 1:20 now. Actually this 4 cell one is new only on 30 some cycles but these 1:20 are not enough out of home.
Well I decide to buy an 8cell battery and I checked the FRU number of my one which is FRU P/N 42T5247 and ASM P/N 92P1164 to can find right one for replacing! And what I find out almost all of bateryes listed on ebay are with similar FRU Numbers like these:
42T5248, 92P1168, 40Y7001, 40Y7003, FRU 92P1171, FRU 92P1173, ASM 92P1174
FRU 92P1167, FRU 92P1169, FRU 92P1227, ASM 92P1170, 40Y6999, FRU 92P1163

Where my ones not mentioned! What this mean, If I take one of these it will not fit to my X60s?
By the way there is another question about exact model of my ThinkPad I checked the label placed below: there is written TYPE 1702 - CTO, BUT (one big BUT :D :?: ) when I enter to BIOS and check there is diferent model number like this: 1704 69U also on windows system info the model number appears as 1704-69u! Which one I have to trust :?: It is a model with integrated Sierra WAN!

Just for example what about this one on link below?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Any battery for non-tablet X6 series (i.e., any battery for the X6x[/s]) will fit your X60s.
[Note: the converse is not true, i.e., the "slim" 4-cell for the X60s/X61s will not fit the X60/X61. However, since you have the X60s, this note does not apply to you!]

Don't forget to say you have the X60s and that you need the spacer.
