Swap Hard Drive From X61s to X61

#1 Post by tabpclover » Tue Jun 29, 2010 12:20 pm

Can someone please let me know

Whether

1) a) Is it possible to swap hard drive from X61s to X61 without getting a blue screen error

b) Is it possible to swap hard drive from X61s to another X61s without getting a blue screen error especially if the processor speeds are different.

2) If you do a hard drive swap as mentioned above will the windows still work and be recognised as original or will it start giving "not genuine notification"

I know from experience that when you swap hard drive from the X61T to X61s then you get a blue screen kind of error at boot up.

Thanks a lot in advance for your advice and experience...

I don't think you'd have issues blue screen wise as they're almost the same machine. Hard to say on the activation. On other machines I've seen it go both ways.
